Vijayawada, February 10:The All India Youth Federation (AIYF) has urged the Andhra Pradesh Government to hold a detailed discussion on the growing unemployment crisis during the ongoing Assembly session and take immediate steps to fulfil its promises made to the youth.
Addressing the media, AIYF State President M. Yugandhar and State General Secretary P. Rajendra said that the ruling coalition had promised to fill vacant government posts within its first year in office, release an annual job calendar every January, provide vocational training and entrepreneurial support, and grant a monthly unemployment allowance of ₹3,000 to jobless youth.
However, the AIYF leaders alleged that even after 19 months in office, the government has failed to implement any of these assurances, leaving lakhs of unemployed youth disappointed and uncertain about their future.
The federation demanded that the Assembly take up a comprehensive discussion on unemployment and announce concrete measures to address the issue. AIYF also called for the formation of a Cabinet Sub-Committee on Employment and Youth Welfare to regularly monitor vacancies, recruitment processes, skill development initiatives, and employment generation programmes.
Stating that unemployment has emerged as one of the most pressing challenges facing Andhra Pradesh's youth, the AIYF leaders urged the government to move beyond promises and take immediate action to create employment opportunities and restore confidence among young people in the State.
“The aspirations of lakhs of educated unemployed youth cannot be ignored any longer. The government must honour its commitments and place youth employment at the centre of its governance agenda,” the AIYF leaders said.
